Bachette Par-tay!

What would a girl be without her friends? Shannon's friends Toni and Wendy showed an incredible amount of love and sneakiness to help celebrate Shannon's last days of single-ness in style!

The event started with three rafts and twenty laughing women. It had rained all day until it was time to go, when magically, the heavens opened up and sunshine poured down on all of us.

Sure there were thunderclouds all around the Tanana Valley, but we're Alaskan! We're tough!

We had ten bottles of champaigne to drink and we wanted to drink it on the water! We met at the Pumphouse Restaurant, our final destination, and took cabs to AlaskaLand - about two hours upriver...or so we thought! My dad and my Uncle John showed up with all three rafts - and baffled expressions - we were already rowdy and we hadn't opened a single adult beverage yet!

Starting down the river! (I'm in blue 'cause I'm special!)

Row row row your boat gently down the streeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaammmm!!!

Shots at the Boatel, a Fairbanks Tradition! Is that the booze or the camerawoman shaking?

Are those ballons?

Heather, before we left.

Heather after three hours on a raft and all that CHAMPAGNE!!!

She is my intrepid photographer and Professional Creative Genius!

Me and my sis Mey Mey, with Steinerd in the background!

Marta is a great friend - she couldn't join us on the rafts, but she met us at the Pump House for the end of the party!

My dad loves me an awful lot! He picked up three rafts from 21 drunken girls at 9PM. I love you dad!

A toast!

Is that a polar bear?! Alaska really is WILD!

Our trip was so idyllic...

And then the rains came back, and we anchored at the Pump House restaurant. Strangely it was also Karaoke night....

Y! M! C! A! Check out the cool hat Jordan won - she can actually sing, unlike Kristen and I! We were officially 'backup' singers. Look at me work that shoulder! Actually, I'm not sure what song it was...and my pants are wet from the river, not anything horrible - I think!

Umm, I think I thought I was being sexxxy!

We are SO RESPONSIBLE! YEAH!

Testing the commentary feature because all my friends are whining that they can't leave cutsie comments on my blog! - Shan
